Our use of BIM begins at feasibility, from early massing studies through to technical delivery. A consistent workflow gives us greater accuracy, improves coordination and allows the whole team to work from reliable information. It is an important part of how we maintain technical quality while developing and delivering ambitious designs.

BIM and Digital Delivery

BIM since 2013

CZWG have been benefitting from BIM since 2013 as a process for creating and managing digital information across the lifecycle of a project, from the earliest feasibility stages through to construction. We are committed to continually improving our delivery of data-rich BIM models that effectively reduce project risk and add real value through project efficiency and the provision of quality information.

Communication and decision-making

We develop efficient, intelligent models tuned to the specific outputs required at each work stage. We produce real-time accurate 3D renderings and flythroughs of projects, providing valuable and readily adaptable visuals at all stages, meaning better communication and decision-making for clients and project teams.

Coordination, clash detection and risk reduction

We combine our technical expertise in the use of BIM technology with our practical construction knowledge. During the technical design and construction stages, clients can benefit from our extensive experience federating various consultants’ models into a single unified model and running collaborative clash detection workshops using Autodesk Navisworks.

ISO 19650 expertise

As Lead Designers and with staff holding BSI ISO 19650 professional certification, CZWG are well placed to offer the role of BIM Coordinator as an additional service, should this be required.

Visualisation and design exploration

We have developed advanced scripting to aid model production and validation. At any stage, we can efficiently produce compelling story-telling visuals or photo-realistic images to inform planning, tender and construction information. Using emerging AI workflows, we can quickly iterate design ideas to communicate design intent and test and refine proposals throughout the design process, helping clients explore and refine options, evaluate alternate materiality and validate decisions.

Our in-house photography and visualisation skills have been deployed to provide images and video flythroughs for early investment and public consultation exercises as well as final sales and marketing information.
