Deptford Public Consultation 02
Thank you to everyone who took the time to join us at our public drop-in event for the Deptford Bridge project over the past two days, hosted at The Cockpit. We were really encouraged by the volume of thoughtful and enthusiastic feedback from neighbours and local communities in support of the residential-led scheme.
The proposals will open up new public access to the Creek, alongside a mix of commercial uses set within a landscaped public realm. Early engagement helped us establish five key site-specific principles that have guided the design development and shaped ongoing discussions:
Celebrate quirkiness
Create a new destination
Provide access and public space
Address housing need
Engage with local stakeholders
This second public event was an opportunity to share a scheme informed by conversations and written responses from the first consultation last July, subsequent planning workshops, and feedback from the Design Review Panel meeting in November. It was particularly valuable to welcome returning visitors and continue those discussions in person.
Following the positive response, the team will be submitting the scheme to London Borough of Lewisham and Royal Borough of Greenwich to begin the next stage of consultation.
