The building was designed especially for me and has been dubbed the ‘Bling Bling Building’ and I love it and represents everything I like to see in a structure.

The late great Herbert Howe

Grosvenor developed an exemplary new shopping area of central Liverpool, based on improved streets, squares and a spectacular park. The first stage of implementation required the relocation of Legendary hairdresser Herbert’s of Liverpool’s salon and school. The new building is at the corner of Hanover Street and School Lane at the lower end of the Rope Walks.

Placed between two exuberantly Edwardian listed buildings, the design celebrates views of and from the surroundings with three major gold encrusted bay windows set into a wrap around curtain walling enriched with deep mullions and transoms. The compact building has become a famous popular icon of this swaggering city.
