Kevin Wang
Architect

BAS | BArch | MArch

Kevin has contributed to several community-focused projects at CZWG of varying scales, from mixed-use multi-site masterplan at Southend, to a regenerative-design led community centre at Northstowe. He led the coordination of the hybrid-planning delivery for the 4.5ha Crossharbour District Centre at the Isle of Dogs, London, that has dedicated over a third of its site to public and community use. Working closely with the GLA and local planning officers, placemaking and community groups, the District Centre proposal accommodates a new school, nursery, council services, cultural and community spaces, and improved sustainable transport links with a variety of green and flexible public square. In addition to a mix of public and commercial spaces, the scheme is supported by circa 2,000 new homes. Kevin is committed to deliver projects that contribute to wider community benefits whilst promoting environments that celebrate unique individual experiences.

Prior to joining CZWG, Kevin acquired a range of architectural experiences in New Zealand, Taiwan, and the United States. Kevin’s projects in New York benefited from close working relationships with the intended occupants where varied perspectives contribute to the brief, from single-family homes, to immersion of student and staff routines in school projects. The development of interpersonal considerations to design exemplified the significance of continued engagements and communication to the success of architecture, and contributed to his appraisal of new projects as we seek to produce characterful environments.

Kevin is passionate about uncovering unexpected crossovers and communication between architecture and the wider public. Kevin is part of CZWG’s sustainability initiatives, public involvements, such as the LFA events, and student mentor programmes. He completed his architectural education at the University of Auckland (New Zealand), obtained a MArch with Distinction at Oxford Brookes University, and Part 3 professional practice with the Architectural Association.
